Steve Shanesy, well know wood finisher recently released an article. In the article he talked about how wood finishing doesn’t have to be complicated or mysterious. He highlighted five ways to get good finishing results with the least amount of trouble. This was great. The five items were
1. Learn how to do three different types of finishes.
2. Learn how to color wood, and which woods take stains or dyes well and which ones don’t.
3. Know your finish before you start the project.
4. Make a sample, make a sample, make a sample.
5. Sand between coats.
